NYC Expands Free 2-K Program With 10,000 More Seats

On October 19, 2026, Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that New York City will add 10,000 free 2-K seats for two-year-olds starting in fall 2027, extending the program to all five boroughs, including all of Staten Island and the Bronx.
