SignalPost

News MCP for personal AI agents

Give your agent the news, already sorted.

SignalPost reads about 130 national and international newsrooms, groups their articles into stories, and ranks each story by how many newsrooms are covering it. Your agent asks one question and gets what matters, not a pile of duplicate links.

Works with any agent or app that speaks MCP, the open standard for connecting AI tools. Plain JSON API for everything else.

Live: the most-covered story on SignalPost right now.

Four tools. Questions people actually ask their assistant.

Every answer points back to a free SignalPost page where the full coverage lives.

top_stories
“What’s the biggest news right now?”
Stories from the last 6 hours to all time, ranked by how many newsrooms cover them. Filter by topic.
story
“Is that story still growing?”
Which newsrooms covered it, coverage hour by hour, how long it has run, and whether it is still open.
search_stories
“Find coverage of the Pope’s surgery.”
Search every story SignalPost has grouped, across any time window.
ask_scout
“When is the surgery?”
Scout answers one question about one story from its coverage, and names the newsrooms it drew on.

Story-level news, not another firehose of links.

One event, one story
Hundreds of articles about the same thing arrive as a single story, so your agent never summarizes the same news twice.
Ranked by newsrooms
How many different newsrooms cover a story is a built-in measure of importance. No engagement bait.
Edited, not just grouped
A review pass removes articles that don't belong, merges split stories, and fixes titles, twice a day.
How long it has run
Every story knows when it started, when it last moved, and whether it is still open. Your agent can tell breaking from fading.

What your agent gets, and what it doesn’t

Titles and summaries are written by SignalPost from the coverage. Newsroom names, counts and timing are SignalPost’s own measurements. Publisher headlines and articles stay with the publishers: each story links to its free SignalPost page, which links out to every article.
