Current lessons

Rules the daily review has learned from its fixes. They ride along with the classifier's questions.

1. A different event framed relative to an earlier one (e.g., 'first execution since X') is a separate trigger; mentioning X as context does not make it part of X's story.
2. Reactions, commentary, recusal motions and other later legal steps in the same case belong with the original trigger, even when the headline focuses on a new person.
3. Pre-game previews, game recaps and post-game fallout for one specific game are one story; injury news or previews for a team's next opponent are not.
4. Evergreen how-to or feature guides about a product version (e.g., 'best features in iOS 27') do not share the trigger of a specific update, event or announcement.
5. Corporate follow-ons such as leadership reshuffles, layoffs or new deals after a launch are separate triggers unless they are the launch itself.
6. Check that cluster titles match the members' claims; a title saying 'cleared' while articles discuss a guilty verdict signals a misclustered or mistitled story.
7. Separate announcements from one company or person can be one story when they come from the same release; look for articles that cover both pieces together.
8. General opinion pieces on a broad theme (defense spending, court term roundups, market news) do not join a specific incident's story without explicit reference to it.
9. Celebrity, athlete or politician reactions to an ongoing protest, award or controversy join that trigger's story.
10. Different incidents of the same type (two shootings, two base break-ins, two debates) stay separate unless the details (location, people, date) match.
